A few weeks ago the qualification requirements for all cars in the 2023 season were released. The Rush SR has a Mod factor of -2.7 (quite aggressive compared to e.g. Thunder Roadster GTR). This essentially seems designed to prevent the car from running on slicks in ST2. Despite this, the car has been competing well.

See rules below and the inputs you can use for the NASA ST/TT Car Classification Form. Resources were taken from the old FB group.

Guys, we are currently working with NASA to get this mod factor reduced. As you will see above the standard mod factor for Sport Racers "Prototypes" with a monocoque chassis is higher at -3.4 for ST2. Obviously that is not us but the current highest mod factor for any other car is a -1, we believe the car should be allowed to be run around 1325# with slicks in ST2. Please note this only applies to cars running in ST2. If you are running in a RUSH SR run group the RUSH rules must be followed, Nankang AR-1s and the stock wing.

David, any word on these negotiations?

Any more update on this?

Good evening, (adding to the correct thread)

I am filling out this form… and the auto calculations at the top are not matching to the results in the thread attachment. Thoughts? Has NASA made updates?

Thanks, Elizabeth

It looks like the difference is in the very first checkbox, re: manual vs electronic throttle body. It is surprising that there is a penalty for this in the CAN-bus cars.

not that it makes a difference since the points are the same, but AR1s are a dot approved tire.

the st-2 solution is just to be fat like me and run a hot tune and not worry about your max hp. wont work in the rush series though
