Help with Assetto Corsa

I'm looking to add the tracks I regularly run to Assetto Corsa. I have found some of the track layouts I
need but not all.
1721576987940.png

This track works fine.

At Sebring, SCCA Central Florida runs a short course several times a year. The start/finish line is
between turns 9 and 10 and runs 10, 11, 12, 13, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 , 8, 9, 10. I have been unable to find a track
file with this layout. Does anyone know of one?

The second is Homestead. NASA and SCCA Florida run different layouts. NASA runs the straits with
the infield in between.
1721577127435.png

This track works fine but only has two layouts.

SCCA Florida runs the roval layout.
1721577334616.png

But when I try to use it the car just floats in space.
1721577414954.png

Does anyone know of a track with the roval that works or know of the settings needed to fix what I have?

Thanks for your help.

Engine and transmission rebuild question

I’m considering purchasing (unsure of either new or used) Rush SR and use it for hpde but I have a question that I have not been able to find an answer.
  • Engine/transmission rebuild - Can I have the engine rebuilt by my locally Suzuki dealer(live in WA State) and transmission rebuild by local transmission or motorcycle shop? Or are there custom modifications done to the engine by RAW that require a RAW certified mechanic?
I understand in order to compete in events the engine needs to be sealed. I don’t plan on competing in events (mainly because there are no events available near me that I’m aware of-hopefully soon), so I’m not concerned about a sealed engine.

I appreciate any feedback anyone can provide.

famous driver loved the rush car!

because of our agreement with the driver I can not say his name or the factory he drives for but trust me I would love to.
when the driver booked a rental I saw his name and said no it could be him.
we ask for the renters driving experience as we do not rent the cars to novice drivers so I get a text with his driving experience with a no I'm not a novice !
my reply was no far from it!
the morning of the event the driver shows up very low key and with all new driving gear from head to toe because he couldn't wear his regular driving gear having his name and the car manufacture he drives for on it. it would be really bad if it got back to the factory he drives for and worse if he was wearing anything with the name on it.

the reason why he was looking to rent a car for the track we went to was because he like I are not big fans of sim's they are a OK tool and are fun but we both prefer to drive a real car on the real track.

He had a total blast driving the rush car. we rent the cars in 100% stock spec trim . we did take out a bit of the understeer but because we rent to such a vast group of different level of drivers we do like the cars to have some just to make the cars safer for the lower level of drivers because understeer is safer than oversteer. he and I both like a car with a bit of oversteer as most drivers do with more experience.

we were talking between run sessions of things we could do to make the car better handling wise. but he did say out of the box as the car is stock it's just fun to drive. the car is very nimble gives great feedback he was also saying you can make the car do what you want it to do very easily .

Generation Differences

Looking for advice in the differences from the 1st gen cars to the current model.
What are upgrades to the 1st gen cars are a "should do" and what upgrades are a "nice addition" but not a "must do"?
Are there any specific problem areas with the early models I should be looking for?
I'm thinking about buying a used car for my first Rush SR to learn with rather than a brand new one.
Any advice offered will be appreciated!

Hello from a lurker

Hi all - I've been lurking for a bit and really considering getting a Rush in the next couple years. I currently track an S54-swapped E36 (bare chassis build for NASA TT/ST3), which I tow with my Rivian R1T. Previous toys include an 06 Lotus Elise (looks like several of you have Lotus backgrounds), and a few turbo subarus. My home track is VIR (I live less than an hour from there), so hope to see some of you out there this season so I can annoy you with questions.

I've been trying to figure out how much $$ its going to cost me to make the switch, though honestly seems like in the long run it'll be cheaper given the consumables and removing my urge to continuously upgrade/modify/fiddle with my current track car.

What kinds/size of trailer are you towing your Rush SRs with? I'm using an aluminum open 18' trailer now, but would prefer a small enclosed for the open cockpit Rush I think, which will take a toll on my towing range with the Rivian probably.

Trying to configure smartycam overlay

Hi everyone,

I picked up my Rush recently and have been having a ball racing it, so far. One of the highlights is going back to the video to re-live all of the great overtakes ;)

My issue is that my smartycam video display came with a large overlay for revcounter etc, which blocks some of the view of the track, and the revcounter only goes to 8k rpm. I'd like to modify the revcounter as well as move some items around, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to access the display. I have followed the guidance in this forum and believe I have received the current info from the Aim dash/smartycam in race studio 3, but not sure where to look to edit the display on the smartycam.

Any guidance you can provide would be very helpful - please be as detailed as you can!

Thanks,
James

Rush SR Approved for SVRA

Great news for all you Rush owners! We just got off the phone with Rob Elson the technical director for SVRA who has approved the Rush SR to race with them!

What does this mean? It means that the nation's largest vintage racing organization is going to allow the SR to race with and against some of the most iconic sports racers in history.

Why would you go vintage racing in a Rush? While the SR is clearly not a vintage car, vintage racing offers a great opportunity to race similar cars on track without the intensity associated with other organizations.

If nothing else, this is one more organization that is approving the Rush SR to race with them which will allow all owners more opportunities to get on track!

Rush SR track day

I'm putting together a Rush SR owners track day ( IT'S NOT A RACE EVENT ! )
the location will be at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut on Saturday 9/14 the club I'm working with to put on the event is SCDA .
if you want to do the event go to motorsportsreg.com and sign up for it.
the run groups are Novice , intermediate one , intermediate two and advanced you would sign up for your appropriate run group.
Thompson is a fun track with nice garages and loads of parking.

if you have questions you can email me at rushrrentals@gmail.com

Brake Pad help

Hi fellow racers. I've just picked up my Rush and have done about 1.5 days at a track I'm very familiar with. I did the brake bedding with engine break in on first session. As i started to push the car, i developed a long brake pedal. Not fade, but just not much stopping power. After discussion with David, I did an abrasive treatment to the pads with some of the finest concrete in SW Michigan (no sand paper available).

Sure enough, the next session went back to the long pedal travel, almost no initial bite on the braking. I have the bias at 58% front. This track is not a heavy braking track either. 1 moderately heavy braking zone, 2 moderate. remainder are mild braking events.

So, I'm guessing its my braking style... Has anyone done research on different pad compounds? (I did do a search here, couldn't find anything...)

Hello From Wi!!!

Good morning all. Cheddar from WI. (Real name!) I own WI Motorsports (Repair and modification shop) and am not new to the race scene. We’ve sponsored many race teams, in many different formats, both on and off road, 2 wheels and 4. Lately, I've desperately wanted to get on track myself, instead of doing all the maintenance/sponsoring side of things. However, while deciding on a race car, I didn't want to break the bank. I also wanted to really showcase what the business could do.

I original purchased and built up 2 DF Kit Car Goblins, one supercharged, one turbocharged, and did have a bunch of fun with them. Breaking down a SS cobalt, reworking a wiring harness, and basically building a car step by step was an experience and was definitely rewarding when completed. Won just about every car show it was in its first year!

However, when it came to actually doing track days with it, I found it almost impossible to find a suitable class, or enough of them to actually compare times/setups with. Even getting the car to pass tech at the majority of tracks was extremely hard. Usually placing my vehicle in a class of either absolutely radical builds, or simply not allowing it on course due to the open wheel concept. I thought I was doomed. Until an event I attend every year (Gridlife) mentioned a race series called - Rush SR. One Google search later - HOOKED.

Now that I’m focusing more on track time, either time attack, or W2W action, I’ve signed up for several driving school programs which I definitely feel will be beneficial. The problem with the Goblins is there is no class and a good probability I’ll be shunned away at tech. Also if I crash, parts are all custom and the company that does assembly these are very poor at getting back to their customers.

(Thanks for listening to my back story) So the other day, I ordered my rush, and now look forward to having a more acceptable race car. I do have a million questions that I’d love if a few of you could answer.

- after your initial order, how long does it take for completion on average?
- are there certain parts/option you can add at ordering that absolutely necessary vs installing on your own or skipping all together?
- with this being an actual series, is there like certain parts you can or can’t install with the risk of being disqualified.

Appreciate your response in advance and look forward to becoming part of the community.
