I have not been able to find something that clearly states the status of what fuel tanks are standard/required to race SCCA/Gridlife/NASA {I don't do social media, so maybe it's there?). Other than in the parts section for upgrading to the latest spec required by Gridlife and SCCA, maybe that's it? And it does explain it pretty well, I guess NASA is a no go?
If there is something other than that, if I could be directed to it that would be great or could someone from Rush clarify it here.
Also, if one has a car on order what will it come with?
Thx

NASA revised its CCR a couple of weeks ago, saying that fuel tanks cannot be mounted parallel to the driver. There was a lot of talk around this in the group. RAW found a US supplier and made a one-off prototype 6-gal tank that would go behind the seat like a traditional formula car. There was another post in the group that stated that they were going to send that prototype off to NASA for testing to see if it could be approved. All orders for the new tanks are on hold until a yes or no is given by NASA on the "Gen 3" tank. (The rest of this I did not officially hear from RAW so take it with a grain of salt just in case.) If NASA approves the new tank, those with orders for the new tank will have the option to take the gen 3 or the gen 2 and will not lose their place in line. As for those whose cars are in production, I am not sure but I would bet that you will have the option to have one of the new tanks installed before delivery.

Thank you sir!

Yes thank you so much for relaying that info here. My car was ordered with duel fuel tanks but before build I would like option to decide if I want one of the revised ones. 🤞

Personally I don't care if NASA approves the "Gen3" tank or not, I want one! Hopefully we'll get updates sooner-rather-than-later. It's a difficult time for the RUSH/Hosie families right now, so patience is required/appreciated.
