Hey everyone,
My name is Tim - expecting chassis 298 in the spring. One test drive and decision was made for me (thanks...Bruce...i think).
Really enjoy the learning curve of a new car / platform in all regards.
Couple transmision related question I was thinking about that I am sure can get answered here.
- Does the car have a rev limiter?
- Will it accept a downshift into an over-rev situation (i.e. a PDK Porsche will acknowledge the downshift but block/hold the shift until safe).
- Does auto-blip work both up and down?
Really just curious and figured I'd introduce myself after lurking here for a while

P.S. looking for an open trailer if anyone has suggestions

Hello Tim,
Welcome and I will say you will love the car.
Yes it has rev limiter and also auto blip.
As far as open trailer Futura FTW.
I have the club sport and love it. Loading and unloading is a breeze with the drop deck and winch.

Hi Tim! You're right before me! I'm supposed to be #302! Are you sure you don't want to trade spots? :)
What part of the country are you located in and what type of driving are you planning on doing with yours?

I'm up in the New England area at spend most of my driving days at at CMS in NH.
I have had the good fortune of driving some great street / track cars but realizing if I am going to get serious about some wheel to wheel need to move to a platform that is a little more race friendly in all regards.
Looking forward to learning this car!
Are you going to be racing in #302

As far as open trailer, the Futura Club sport is the most practical trailer I ever had.

Small one axle trailer I can fit perfectly inside my garage (which is pretty small to begin with)

At the picture below, I was towing without the wing installed due to my rock guard not being ready when I got the trailer delivered.

It's interesting you have it loaded backwards. I would have thought drive on, roll off.
Assuming take 2 people to push it on? Or are you using a winch.
Sorry if a stupid question....

I have the club sport and I load it backwards so I can hook the winch to the tow hook and pull it up and then just let the winch out when unloading. Piece of cake for one person. I have the rock guard so I don’t worry about the wing catching the air.

Super easy and one person job loading in and out by using the winch.
I do load the Rush backwards for a better weight distribution in the trailer...prefer more weight at the front of the axle.

Its super practical/convenient.

Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Welcome, and look forward to meeting you next season!

Yes the Rev Limit is 11,800 RPM
Yes you can "Money" shift the car if you downshift at the wrong time
Yes it does utilize the factor "Quick Shift" system which is quite clever at manipulating the engine to allow for the transmission dog engagement.

If you spent much time in a Cayman the Rush should feel fairly natural to drive! That being said spend some time reviewing the technical section so that you know how to do a nut and bolt as it is very different to a GT car. Other than that jump on Asseto Corsa and start practicing over the winter, Blair did a great job of getting the Rush into the program for us!

Really any trailer will work with the Rush that is a big bonus for us. I personally recommend a 7.5 x 14 small enclosed for those looking for a minimal hauler. Ryan Leach, the series winner for 2023 & 2024, sells trailers and has hooked up a lot of us here!

Regarding a "rev limiter".
It is my understanding that the car does not have a mechanical or electronic rev limiter. It can theoretically "money shift" ( over-rev and damage ) the motor.
However, It is also my understanding that this motor is basically an early GSX-R design, that was originally designed to rev to over 14,000 rpm, and that it is very unlikely you will ever damage the motor due to an over-rev.
YMMV

Bill - the car does have a rev limiter, flooring it in gear will not overrev the motor. It does not however have money shift prevention, so if you are in very high revs then downshift, you can overrev the motor.

In practice I have not seen or done this, but it is possible for now.
