Question for a maybe buyer. Ive seen the operating costs been stated at around 80 dollars per hour. This seems extraordinarily low. How long are brake pads lasting? Tires? Rotors? This is a questions as an HPDE driver not a racer. Usually do 5-30 min sessions per day and home track is Sebring.
any insight you can give me would be fantastic!
is there somewhere i can look at the price of the rotors and pads also?
thank you so much

There is a price list in resources. Rotors are 130, the "stock" pads are $70 per axle. Tires are ~600 a set, wheel bearings $80. You really can't get much cheaper. IDK how accurate the cost per hour is, but that should give you an idea of how inexpensive it is to operate.

I'll be at the next chin sebring event if you'll be there.

Hey John thank you for the response.
By any chance did you happen to be at the chin event last Friday? Because I was on track in a rented Clubsport and there was a white SR on track with me. That car is what got me to look all this up. I really wish I had gone up to the owner and talked.
Hope it was you, your a hell of a driver.

Yes it was likely John on track with you.

link to spare part price list. https://rush.sr/resources/raw-spare-parts-price-list.24/

Rotars are $121.87 you should get around 35-40 days from a set at Sebring

Our standard pad is $74.26 per axle should get around 16 days from a set at Sebring if properly seated and discs rubbed in.

Tires are $696 per set expect 8-10 days at Sebring.

you will use 5 gal of 93 pump gas per 30 min session there.

$200 for chain every 16-20 days.

Engine is $3000 for basic rebuild + any additional part. Base this on 150 hrs.

Yea that was me that was basically my first day besides a break in/shakedown at the firm. @Cale Blevins I get a commission right?

@Seanm7455 - David's numbers are fairly accurate from my use (HPDE so far)

I did about 14 hours on the OEM pads at MSR Houston. They still had quite a bit of life left and could have rotated them to wear them out more, but I wanted to try my "standard" PFC pads that I really like the feel of.

Tires lasted about 16 hours of run time before the fronts were gone. I struggled with understeer on the car initially. I'm just more use to a mid engined car that is more rotateable. I'm working on setup now to get it more to my liking.

Rotors show little to no wear even after 18 hours of operation. The PFC will be more aggressive on wear, but I have little concern with them at my local track.

Gas... This is funny, I was chatting with my buddy who runs a full 110 octane car and he will easily spend $1000 a day. I spent $70 for the entire day with the Rush....

Engine rebuild: Rush is advertising 150 hours or so... I figure if I get 100+ hours it beats most of the other "race car" engines that have around 40 to 80 rebuild cycle.

David this is fascinating real world observations and the kind of things i need to hear. The operation costs you guys are showing are below what a spec miata i was driving 10 years ago cost and this car is significantly faster, just truly astounding metrics. It seems this car car has been well thought out. I was looking at Radicals after having driven a few of them, but the fun factor vs cost in this seems so much better. I need to find a place to try one out.

I was about to put a deposit down on a used Radical SR3. In doing my diligence on radical owners forum the real costs of consumables became more transparent. Several stated overall running costs between 500-700/ hr all said and done. I made the 6 hour drive to look at the both the radical and Rush, and for me that rush was an easy win. The consumables on this thing are just unbeatable

My story is about exactly the same! I was about to pull the trigger on a 2004-2005 Radical SR3 that was for around $40 (this was mid 2021) and then I randomly came across the Rush SR. I sent a message over to them and just my luck, the TX boyz were coming to my local track down in Miami (Homestead) and with my prior racing experience, they were willing to give me a test drive in the one and only concept Rush running, the Red Rocket lol.

I was very skeptical because of how small, short wheelbase it was and it being brand new but once I drove it, I was beyond blown away. About 4-weeks prior I had an endurance race in a Radical SR3 at Homestead Speedway so that helped me compare them two and I honestly felt comfortable in the Rush right away. The grip is insane.... it's on rails. The brakes.... let's just say it takes time to realize you can brake at the 200 or even 150 area.

Thennnnnnnn you take everything I said before and add the brand new cost AND the operating cost, I was SOLD! I received my Rush on December 10th, 2021 and have never been happier!
