having a few other chain drive cars I hate the chain lube flying all over the place.
I took a few minutes to make a template then it took about 20 minutes to cut out and mount each guard.
used 4 10-24 nut serts and SS button head bolts.
I hope it keeps things a little cleaner.

I've wondered if the manufacturer purposely has no chain guard?
Is it better to give the chain a chance to "escape" from the area involving the engine cases?
Because, IMO, if you put a "chain guard" in place, it definitely is going to contain the chain and possibly direct it to the engine cases?

It's going to suck the rest in regardless of the guard, then spit it out. These chain guards aren't going to make it come back around and hit the engine after getting spit out.

with the chain guard make the chain eat the case? this is a how's to say if it will with our with out a chain guard?
there is also the thinking of if the chain was to break and whip it could also take out the radiator.
lets hope that your changing and servicing your chain and sprockets long before it's ready to break.

Guys, I did not want this article to get lost in this tread so I made a separate post into resources.

You will see my thoughts on this here.

What replacement chain do you recommend? I assume the tension is adjusted with the diff position.

Excellent write-up Dave, thanks for posting it. As for an oiler, has anyone experimented with something like this "Motorcycle Chain Lubricator Oiler Auto" on Amazon? I can imagine it would save some time and help consistently lube. It could also be mounted inside the cab next to the seat to avoid needing to take off the rear bodywork every time. That's probably not good, as you should be inspecting it, but it's a nice option.

I used to buy regina gold 520 o-ring chain on a 50" or 100" bulk roll. the 50" roll fed ex would ship the 100' roll would have to come by truck shipping. it would cut 1/3 off the cost of buying shorter lengths of chain that you could get one or two lengths out of for our cars and bikes.
I will contact RK to see if they sell chain in bulk rolls.

Guys we have chains in stock!
Dave as you know we will be needing a crap load of spare parts. chain and sprockets being one of them.
I started a list of what I'm thinking we will be needing and sent it to Cale yesterday but the list is still growing.
I would love to get a price list of the things so we can get parts ordered.
